Gilsonite, also known as SIMONO^® Gls, is a solid Hydrocarbon that is naturally occurring, high purity, and rich in asphaltenes and Nitrogen compounds. It has a glossy black appearance and is brittle, with low sulfur or ash content. Its chemical characteristics are significantly different from those of hard coal or asphalt, despite the fact that it looks to be the same.
